Two days after the death of her brother, a woman gives a look at the special relationship she had with him.
“There is no way I can explain to you what these last two days have been like,” cries Dawn Bueist.
Paul Maidman’s sister is speaking out on the accident that took her brother’s life.
“He went to the store and he never came home,” she says.
On April 4th, a Jeep Grand Cherokee slammed into the back of a Buick Century at the intersection of Cheyenne and Soaring Gulls Drive. The accident happened at 3 am and police say the driver of the Jeep, Miranda Dalton, is under arrest for DUI.
Now Maidman’s sister can’t help but think of what could have been.
“He was going to get a Masters in Political Science. He wanted to be a congressman, and he wanted to fix what was wrong,” says Bueist.
She says the 28-year-old veteran was running to make copies for an online class.
She lives just a little ways from where the accident occurred. She says she will not be able to drive by that intersection without thinking of her brother.
Dawn Bueist wants justice.
“I want her to remain in prison for the rest of her life. I don’t ever want her out. I have no sympathy for her.”
